Wij hebben hier dit weekend ons huwelijksfeest gevierd. Vanaf de eerste meeting (ondertussen anderhalf jaar geleden) werden wij helemaal op ons gemak gesteld door hun vriendelijke en professionele medewerkers. Het uiteindelijke feest was alles wat we ervan verwacht hadden en meer. Een prachtige, intieme locatie, een lekker menu met een persoonlijke toets en een vlekkeloze organisatie en bediening de avond zelf. Wij kunnen De Serre en hun team aanraden aan iedereen die een huwelijks- of ander feest wenst te organiseren in centrum Antwerpen!

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!!

I'm giving the second star because the place itself is beautiful.

We just had our wedding. There were some issues down the line and the attitude of the people working there is awful. If you have any problems or they make a mistake they became defensive and refuse to find a working solution.
The place is also very expensive for what it is. They also add the btw at the end of their offer, so it's difficult to do a good estimation of the prices.
They charge 100 euros for "drukwerk" which is 10 small pieces of paper with your menu on it. 200 euros for flowers which is maybe a small bouquet worth.
Their open bar is limited unless you love beer - in which case, they have 14 kinds or so. Very limited types of sodas or other drinks.

Examples of what we have experienced
- Mistakes in their offer
-Forgot that we are going to attend a tasting: we were only informed that they forgot we are coming once we arrived at the venue
-Missing items from our menu (They made up some excuse/fake explanation afterwards)
-Lack of experience with timing and anticipation
-Our cake was not provided by the venue itself, but through another well known bakery (tip: starts with a M, has at least 3 locations). We ordered a cake for 67 people and had 58 guests (ourselves included) and somehow the Serre managed to only cut 40 slices (as per the event manager). The slices were huge but they state that this is "standard" size.
-We asked if vegetarian dishes would be an option and they said no problem, however after the food meeting, there was a lot of issues and back-and-forth. They could have just asked to clarify the point that were unclear to them.
-We were intrested to have a drinks paid as per consumption instead of paying for an open bar. They confirmed that this was an option, however when we requested the price of the drinks we were told that " it's like the prices in a caffe". We insisted to provide the list with the prices per drink type and got 3 examples.

I can go on and on about some smaller things as well.

We are usually very patient people and understand that mistakes can be made, but this case we left with a very bitter feeling.
I do not recomment this place. Save yourself the headache and do not hire them to organize your party.

Hidden lunch spot behind the botanical garden. Great food with fresh products. Amazing interior and great terrace outside. The look and feel of the terrace appears a little cheap compared to the luxurious interior.

De lunch is best OK. Ik at er in de zomer een broodje, niets buitengewoons. Je kreeg er wel een lekkere/frisse risotto bij als side-dish. De locatie is erg de moeite en daar betaal je ook wel voor (want de bar heeft zelfbediening).

Heel fijne plaats voor lunch! Vandaag voor de eerste keer met vriendinnen geweest. Ze hielpen ons graag om de lunch extra speciaal te maken en werden met een glimlach onthaald. Het concept voor het eten is ook heel fijn, gewoon zelf verschillende bordjes bestellen en zo kan je delen met elkaar of zelf je maaltijd samenstellen.

Kort samengevat: mooie omgeving, zeer lekker eten en super vriendelijke bediening!
